Here’s a single ingredient, super healthy treat my dogs love:
-Quarter two medium sweet potatoes
-Slice the potatoes thinly by hand or with a food processor
-Place sliced potatoes on lined dehydrator sheets in a single layer
-Dehydrate at 125 degrees for about five hours
-Store in an airtight container
I had a couple of ingredients in the fridge that I’ve never used before – Trader Joe’s Soy Chorizo and Cheddar Teese. I decided to make a pizza because, well, it is quick and easy and hard to mess up. For this pizza, I used TJ’s pizza dough and started with a layer of salsa, then added half a container of Teese. I topped it off with half a package of soy chorizo, mushrooms, onions and peppers and baked it at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes. The result? I’m definitely making it again. Next time, I’ll hold the salsa. The soy chorizo has so much flavor and spice on its own. The cheddar Teese complimented it nicely.
Here’s a super simple and delicious summer dessert recipe that takes just a few minutes to make:
Chocolate Graham Cracker Pie Crust
2 1/3 cups vegan graham cracker crumbs (Nabisco Original Grahams and some store brands are vegan)
2/3 cup Navitas cocoa powder
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup canola oil
1/4 cup almond milk
Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl, then add the wet ingredients. Press into a 9 inch pie plate.
Chocolate Banana Ice Cream
3 frozen bananas
6 T Navitas cocoa powder
4 T almond milk
1 1/2 t vanilla
Blend all ingredients together in a blender or food processor until it becomes the consistency of soft serve ice cream.
I used this recipe.
Pour ice cream into the pie crust and smooth out the top. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and top with some crushed nuts (I use raw cashews). Cover and freeze until you’re ready to serve.
